Tang Jinhai is the headmaster of Qiaolu Primary School in Ningxia Hui Autonomous Region, northwest China. Tang and his wife, Ma Cuihua, have worked at the school for 15 years. The couple are committed to preventing students from dropping out of the school.

Years of efforts have witnessed great changes at the school. Originally with only three classrooms, it now has two buildings of classrooms, four classes and six teaching staff. The number of female students has also increased from 2 to 35.

“The only wish we have is that our students can study hard and to see the world outside the mountain,” the couple said.
